General Data Protection Regulation

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years.
The regulation will fundamentally reshape the way in which data is handled across every sector, from healthcare to banking and beyond.

After four years of preparation and debate, the GDPR was finally approved by the EU Parliament on 14th April 2016. It was enforced on 25th May 2018 – and organizations that are not compliant could now face heavy fines.

The aim of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is to protect all EU citizens from privacy and data breaches in today’s data driven world. Although the key principles of data privacy still hold true to the previous directive, many changes have been proposed to the regulatory policies.
